“Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade”
*The topic of the “Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade” is a very difficult subject to present. No matter how many voluminous research works are produced, there can never be an adequate and extensively “just” presentation of the horrific magnitude of what occurred. Regardless of whose statistics are used, it is estimated that approximately 12 million Africans were captured and sold into slavery between 16th to 19th century.
Based upon these staggering figures alone, this is the single-most incident of a holocaust in human history.
On July 30, 2008, the United States House of Representatives passed a resolution apologizing for American slavery and subsequent discriminatory Jim Crow Laws.
